Letters to the editor are always a treasure trove of logical and coherent arguments. I got this paper clipping of one from a friend (thanks, Chris!). Who would have thought that there are still good arguments against atheism to be considered. We really ought to think about what is more important to us, our citizenship or atheism. But then again, it may all be a hoax. Even so, I would not be surprised if some people actually think this way.

I am a 15th Generation American. And I am an athiest of at least three generations. I am a direct decendant of two passengers of the Mayflower who were listed as “Adventurers” who came to this land to seek their fortune, not because of religious reasons. My impressions of the paper clip ‘letter to the editor’ was that it was written by someone who is very uneducated and informed about the history of this county and its founding principles.
